NUSADAILY.COM-JAKARTA – The Cool appearance of LIPI and UBL electric motors is seen in Sentul. Yes, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) together with Budi Luhur University (UBL) held a trial, on Monday (15/2). The bike was named Budi Luhur-Sport Electric Vehicle 01 (BL-SEV01).
This trial, to find out the level of performance, handling performance and speed of the electric motor. Location selected at Sentul International Circuit, Bogor, West Java.
The trial involved a young driver, Galih Aji Prakoso, who is also an alumnus of Budi Luhur University. Galih’s selection as a test rider is expected to maximize the performance of the bike. Then give input to the academic in order to develop the bike better in the future.
“This collaboration produces a real product, certainly a prototype that can be tried its function. The main purpose of this collaboration is expected to produce a product. Who has the value of pride from the institution. And it will also benefit the wider community,” said Head of Transportation OF LIPI, Abdul Hafid.
Head of The Center for Electric Vehicle Studies, Budi Luhur University, Sujono revealed. That activity was the first test for the BL-SEV01 electric motor. Which involves professional riders and is carried out on the official race track, namely Sentul.
“After getting input and performance data after this initial trial. We recently re-evaluated BL-SEV01 and refined it in the Lab of the Center for The Study of Electric Vehicles, Budi Luhur University,” sujono said in his official statement.
The results of the first trial, BL-SEV01 can complete 11 bends and a straight track along 900 meters well. The bike also recorded a top speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
However, when the motorcycle is driven back more quickly. Bl-SEV01 had problems entering the small S corner. This electric motor had to go back into the paddock pit to analyze the problem.
BL-SEV01 Motorcycles Undergo Maximum Test
After checking the condition and conducting an evaluation, the team found a problem in the gear set. The components used today are experiencing performance reductions. That’s after a few laps at Sentul Circuit.
“After BL-SEV01 was evaluated with the team, it turned out that the problem in the front gear set on the chain that lost teeth was exhausted. Because in the maximum test on the circuit track. But thankfully the electric motor and battery did not experience any problems and under normal circumstances. This first test we end first. We will evaluate and continue the second test at Sentul Circuit again,” he explained.
He said that the first test was considered satisfactory enough. They plan to hold a second test with some development on that motor.
“I will continue to support the development of BL-SEV01 electric motor as the work of the nation’s children. That was done directly by Lecturers and Students of Budi Luhur University and cooperated with LIPI,” said Chairman of the Board of Daily Management (BPH) Budi Luhur Cakti Education Foundation, Kasih Hanggoro who witnessed the BL-SEV01 test.
The appearance of lipi and UBL electric motors is in accordance with performance. The BL-SEV01 uses a 16 kW BLDC 96 Volt electric motor, powered by a 48Ah battery and a 96 Volt 200 Ampere controller. The battery can be fully charged again after charging for 4 hours. (sir/cak)
