NUSADAILY.COM-PROBOLINGGO – Mount Bromo is still actively a concern of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Probolinggo Regency. To prevent eruptions and hydrometrology, CCTV was installed in the sand sea caldera of Mount Bromo.
The installation of CCTV was conveyed by the Chief Executive of BPBD Probolinggo Regency Anggit Hermanuadi. CCTV was installed, after coordinating with the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (BB TNBTS) and the Geological Disaster Mitigation Volcanology Center (PVMBG).
“So later when there is a development of disaster in the region, we also have data or information. Do not rely on one party only, namely PVMBG or TNBTS,” said Anggit Hermanuadi during a meeting with Journalists Concerned about Disaster (Jurlina) Friday, January 29, 2021.
Probolinggo regency itself, is included as a tnbts coverage area. Precisely, there are two sub-districts that are directly adjacent to this national park area, namely Sumber and Sukapura subdistricts.
Meanwhile, if Mount Bromo eruptions or releases volcanic material, this area will be affected starting from exposure to ash rain or sulfur exposure, as happened in previous eruptions.
“Actually, we have planned cctv installation in Mount Bromo since 2015. However, realized this year and hopefully with the presence of CCTV can be useful in the future,” he added.
In addition, the budget issue of the Apbd of Probolinggo Regency that was not immediately liquid became a previous constraint. In fact, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the rations for CCTV were almost refocussing.
Later, this CCTV will operate for 24 hours. With an internet connection to the control room at the BPBD Office in Probolinggo Regency.
The CCTV is not ordinary CCTV. Because, It has the ability to zoom in up to 35 times; anti-fooging or anti-fog; can rotate 360 degrees and 90 tilt up and down. (ras/aka)
