The Vice President said that the Indonesian ambassador to Saudi Arabia is currently trying to make Indonesian Umrah pilgrims not included in the list that is prohibited by the Government of Saudi Arabia.

“Indonesia is not exposed to viruses. So our congregation must be safe, “said the Vice President to the media crew after the Nganggung Kubro event with the Ummah at Hidayatussalikin Islamic Boarding School in Pasir Padi, Air Itam, Bukit Intan, Pangkal Pinang City, Thursday (2/27/2020).

The Vice President expects the Government of Saudi Arabia to grant or reopen access to Indonesian pilgrims to perform Umrah.

“We wait for the results,” he said.

Regarding several Indonesian citizens detained at King Abdul Aziz Airport, the Vice President explained that Indonesia was trying to negotiate so that pilgrims who had arrived could continue to carry out Umrah and those who had not departed were not stopped.

“I don’t think Umrah should be stopped, this is temporary. However, even though we are temporarily hoping that Indonesia will not enter the meantime. If the reason is the Coronavirus, we are not exposed, it should not be affected by an embargo, “he concluded. (Hud)
