“Through persistent international diplomacy and cooperation, Indonesia has managed to secure the availability of COVID-19 vaccines that meet all our needs,” the Vice President said in a statement received, in Jakarta, Friday

Referring to World Health Organization data, as of the end of January there are still 130 countries that have not received the COVID-19 vaccine; even some developed countries have not been able to ensure the availability of vaccines for the entire community, said the Vice President, when closing The International Conference Tackling the COVID-19 Pandemic: Health, Economics, Diplomacy and Social Perspective online, Thursday (25/2) evening.

“There are still 130 countries that have not gained access to the COVID-19 vaccine, the majority of which are developing countries. In that regard, we should be grateful that Indonesia is in a better situation,” said the Vice President.

In addition to guaranteeing the availability of vaccines for the community, said the Vice President again. Indonesia is even committed to exporting the COVID-19 vaccine to help countries in southeast Asia obtain vaccines.

Through this commitment, Indonesia also gained appreciation from the international community in the program of providing COVID-19 vaccines equally to other countries.
