NUSADAILY.COM – JAKARTA – Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita traveled to Japan to fulfill the invitations of a number of major automotive industry players, namely Toyota Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Honda, Suzuki, and Mazda, as well as several colleagues from the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Japan (METI) and the Office of the Prime Minister of Japan.

“We will all out to attract investment. This visit is specifically to oversee the commitment of new investment in the automotive and petrochemical sectors. With METI, we will explore the evaluation and follow-up process of IJEPA and New MIDEC,” said the Minister of Industry through an official statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The Minister of Industry (Ministry of Industry) continues to strive to encourage the realization of investment commitments in the national manufacturing sector.

The delegation will also meet with associations of 100 companies in Japan or Kaidanren and friendship agencies that actively promote Indonesia-Japan relations or the Japan Indonesia Association (Japinda).

The Minister of Industry encouraged Japanese investors to develop electrified vehicles (EV).

In addition, Agus seeks to expand the export market of Indonesian automotive products, especially for destinations to Australia. The Minister of Industry will also explain the Copyright Act to industry players, counterparts, and ministers of METI.

This ministerial visit is the first working visit of the first minister in the world that has been officially accepted by the Japanese government since sakura country established the status of State of Emergency.

This shows that Indonesia is a very important bilateral partner for Japan. (lal)
