NUSADAILY.COM – JAKARTA – As many as 100 ventilators from the aid of the United States (US) government, for the handling of new coronavirus (Covid-19) have arrived in Indonesia, Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
“The first 100 ventilator units have arrived. This is the first stage of delivery of a planned delivery of a total of 1,000 ventilator units, “said Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Thursday, July 23, 2020.
Furthermore, he said, assistance from the US would arrive gradually. This assistance is a follow-up to President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) talks, with US President Donald Trump, April 2020.
Apart from the US, Indonesia also received assistance from 100 ventilator units from Australia on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
“This support will be handed over to the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), as the Chair of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling,” he explained.
Until now, Indonesia has partnered with 120 parties to handle Covid-19. Covering 11 countries, 12 international organizations and 97 nongovernmental partners. (Via)
