NUSADAILY.COM- SURABAYA- The city of Surabaya is trusted and chosen to be one of the venues for the U-21 World Cup, based on FIFA’s decision according to PSSI’s submission. Thursday, 6 August 2020, the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Risma Harini, met with the Minister of PUPR.
One of the six stadium venues that will be used as the venue for the U-21 World Cup is Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, in the city of Surabaya. To meet the requirements, facilities and facilities must be built. For this reason, the Mayor of Surabaya met with the Minister of PUPR to discuss the construction of the facility.
After meeting with Nusadaily.com, Risma said that the most important facility to be built was the connecting access road to the GBT Stadium. Apart from the existing ones.
“We are proposing to build a new road. We propose it to the Minister. And there it has been explained that the division of which is the affairs of the City Government, developers and toll roads, ” She explained.
Why must a new path? Risma said that the road access would be made to simultaneously provide access to the Final Disposal Site (TPA) and the New Port of Surabaya in Teluk Lamong.
“I convey to the Minister that the new road supports access to the stadium, connecting also to Benowo TPA and Teluk Lamong New Port. To be able to serve various other activities, ” She said to the main media of Imperiumdaily.
Meet President Jokowi
After the PUPR Minister, Risma admitted that she would meet with the President of the Republic of Indonesia Jokowi regarding the renewable alternative power plant at the TPA.
“We hope that President Jokowi will inaugurate this year. Because the Benowo TPA is ready. It is physically finished and has produced an electricity supply of 11 thousand megawatts, ” She said.
The renewable power plant project from waste processing at Benowo TPA has been ready since some time ago. But because there is COVID-19, it has been delayed. “Just commissioning or testing. The experts are ready, ” She explained.
Just to note, six stadiums designated U-21 World Cup, among others, the Bung Karno Main Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung Regency), Manahan Stadium (Solo), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya), Jakabaring Stadium ( Palembang), and I Wayan Dipta Stadium (Bali).
For this event, the Ministry of PUPR is targeted to complete infrastructure until March 2021. (ima / top)
