NUSADAILY.COM – JAKARTA – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that currently the competition for COVID-19 vaccine is getting harder at the global level and Indonesia has a safe source of COVID-19 vaccine procurement supply.

“Indeed now around the world the vaccine is getting harder. Alhamdulillah Indonesia is the source of vaccines there are four,” budi said at the National Gallery, Jakarta, as broadcast live by the Presidential Secretariat, Monday.

The four sources of vaccine procurement for Indonesia are producers from China, The United Kingdom, the United States and Germany-United States. Thus, if any of the supply is disrupted, Indonesia can rely on other sources of supply.

“Well, this smooth one is from China. So routinely they do every two weeks there is a delivery,”Said Menkes.

On Sunday (18/4), China through pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech Ltd delivered six million bulk vaccine raw materials as part of 140 million bulk shipments. The delivery is the arrival of the eighth stage of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia. The raw material of the vaccine will be processed by PT Bio Farma Persero into a finished vaccine.

“The shipment came yesterday was 6 million raw materials. That would be 80 percent or 4.8 million a month later in May. So we are now a bit braked because there are obstacles to the AstraZeneca, but thank God that China is still in. Until this April God willing should be fulfilled. And we have also prepared it for May,” budi said.

Previously in March as many as 16 million bulk corona virus vaccine from Sinovac arrived in Indonesia, Thursday (25/3) afternoon. The arrival of the vaccine at that time was recorded as acceptance of the seventh stage vaccine.

With the arrival of the vaccine raw materials, the total raw materials of the vaccine made by Sinovach until the delivery of the seventh stage or the end of March 2021 as much as 53.5 million raw materials. (eky)
