NUSADAILY.COM – JAKARTA – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said innovation and technological independence could be the drivers of national economic recovery.
“In accordance with the direction of the President, BPPT can be the brains of economic recovery extraordinary (extraordinary) through various innovations and technologies so that it can become the center of Indonesia’s technological intelligence,” Luhut said at the BPPT 2021 National Working Meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/3).
In a written statement received by ANTARA, Luhut said the independence of technology, especially in the implementation of national priority programs, such as food estates, should be strengthened and hastened.
By focusing on the utilization of local products, Luhut believes Indonesia can have more competitiveness than imported products.
Former Minister of Police Polhukam said that currently has developed various technology products in the country, such as agricultural machine tools (alsintan), refused-derived fuel (RDF) as technology for waste processing, and also plastic asphalt implementation technology. These technologies will continue to be innovated so that domestic products are growing.
He also asked BPPT to succeed reverse engineering in maritime technology and digital transformation by adding a touch of innovation.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut continued, will support through the coordination of the rule of law and the funding needed to strengthen the role of BPPT.
“So as to create an ecosystem of economic growth based on innovation and advanced technology,” he said. (lal)
